Jack First caught SLR at the Walnut Valley Bluegrass Festival (aka Winfield) back in 2000, and have been a fan ever since. So happy to hear about a new release. Cheers

hambacon I was introduced to Split Lip Rayfield as an opener for Les Claypool back in 2010 and was completely blown away. I immediately purchased their entire discography and it has regularly showed up in my rotation since. The new album was worth the wait and is a worthy followup to I'll Be Around Favorite track: I Don't Need a Gun.

JimOliver I've never stopped listening to their previous records, so it'd be a lie to say I've missed these guys. I'm glad as hell to hear new music from them, though. Picks up right where they left off. Favorite track: I Don't Need a Gun.

about

On My Way highlights the powerful songwriting talents of banjo innovator Eric Mardis and mandolin renegade Wayne Gottstine, while bassist Jeff Eaton holds it all down with his hand-built one-string Stitchgiver. All of that old-school invention and energy is intact, but their songs keep getting better, and their sound is sneakier and smarter than ever. The same band with the same ideals that they've had for years, SLR is more diverse, sound-wise, than ever been before.

about

Split Lip Rayfield Lawrence, Kansas

It's been more than 20 years years since SLR first mashed up their aggressive stew of acoustic bluegrass instrumentation, tight country vocals, fierce metal shred and in-your-face punk sensibilities. One observer said we all "owe them a huge debt for not only defining a sound, but stretching the possibilities of the acoustic music world." ... more
